Meet the Founders

The Kiddy Candy Bar was founded by sisters Celestine Clayton and Lashaun Clayton, whose shared vision is rooted in family, community, and the legacy of the neighborhood candy store their late mother once ran.

Celestine Clayton, the youngest of four siblings, spent her childhood growing up on the South Side of Chicago. Fifteen years ago, she moved to Minnesota and quickly built a life centered around family and community. As a proud mother to her nine-year-old child, Celestine wears many hats in both her personal and professional life. Despite her many responsibilities, her greatest pleasure comes from serving and uplifting the community around her.

Her older sister, Lashaun Clayton, is also a Chicago native who moved to Minnesota in 2026 to follow her dream of opening The Kiddy Candy Bar. Lashaun is a devoted mother of three children, ages 21, 13, and 1. She has always had a passion for creating spaces where kids can simply be kids—places where they feel free to play, laugh, and be themselves in a safe and welcoming environment.

Together, the sisters are carrying forward the spirit of the candy store their mother once ran—building more than just a place to buy sweets, but a place where families can gather, memories can be made, and community connections can continue to grow.

We envision Kiddy Candy Bar as a vibrant hub where children can freely express their playful spirit and families can create lasting memories. It's a place designed for laughter, interaction, and the simple pleasure of enjoying sweet treats. We want everyone to feel a sense of belonging and joy every time they step through our doors or engage with our brand.
